"I bought my Columbia from Max at the 2025 Artisan Guitar Show. He had strung it up only a few days earlier, but it was already responsive and loud!

This is my first guitar with falcate bracing. Unlike the many guitars that remind players of the wonderful traditions of Martin and Gibson, Max’s guitars have their own sound. I hear great clarity and string separation, with a forward quality in the treble strings that makes expressing a melody easy. His eye for design is very appealing, and his workmanship is beautiful and flawless.

Though my Columbia excels as a fingerstyle instrument, it’s just as much fun to play with a flatpick. This guitar comes out of the case ready to make music! Its tone has matured during this first year, and it knows it’s a guitar now. I’ve learned a lot, even as a lifetime guitarist, about drawing out the sound I want to hear. It asks me for my best effort, and then rewards me with gorgeous sound. This is a very special guitar. Thanks, Max!"
